Group Lessons/Music Classes
Young Beginners Group Piano Class for Ages 5-8
This 8 week class touches all of the music basics – time, tempo, rhythm, pitch, and basic music notation – concepts I then apply in relation to the piano/keyboard.
Children will learn to identify the different notes on the piano/keyboard, and how to use all five fingers to play a song. In every class there will be music, movement, games and FUN. The children will also participate in class activities/simple crafts to reinforce the lesson of the week.
During the course, the children will be making pages for their own piano book, which will be put together at the end of the last session. The book will contain pages covering all the piano basics, plus five simple songs and the child’s own activity sheets.
The Young Beginners Piano Class is made up of 8 weekly one-hour sessions. This class is for students only.
Tuition for this class is $150. All supplies are included in this fee.
Supplies include, but are not limited to:
- One 2-pocket folder
- One large ziplock carry bag
- Construction paper
- Markers
- Crayons
- Glue stick
- Stickers
- Various craft supplies and activity sheets
The full course fee is due upon registration in order to ensure your child’s place in the class. I have designed this course to be fairly compact (8 weeks as opposed to 10 or 12 or more) so that there will be less chance of having a child miss a class. If a child is not able attend a class, I will not be able to give a refund, however, I will supply all of the materials for the missed class(es) so that the child’s book will be complete at the end of the course.
Once a child is registered, I cannot offer a course refund.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I am able to be VERY flexible about Group Lesson Classes. I am available to teach these classes almost any day of the week. As long as I have at least 3 students for the class and we can agree on the day and time, we are good to go. So, if you would like your child to attend, see if a few friends can come, too, and I will schedule a class just for you!
